General doubting Thomas J. STONEWALL capital of MississippiThomas Jonathan Jackson was born January 21, 1824, in Clarksburg, Virginia. While he was a youngster both of his parents were laid to rest. He was raised by his uncle, and moved to what is now, Jacksons Mill, West Virginia. When he turned 18 years old, he was appointed to attend West Point. During the Mexican War, he was appointed to smart set the First Regular Artillery. At this time, Jackson started to become religious. He started to consume the Bible, and joined the Presbyterian Church.In 1851 he accepted a teaching baffle at the Virginia Military Institute at Lexington, Virginia.
